Road Trip 2005
Three days to go until our little family hits the road in a major way! We will travel 3700 miles through 10 states in a little over 2 weeks, visiting a host of family and friends along the way. We are both excited and apprehensive at the same time. Road trips are the stuff family memories are made of, but sometimes all that togetherness can make you just plain crazy! We need to remember to relax, not take ourselves too seriously, and just enjoy the ride. We’re buying a new camcorder to document the whole thing (we have two broken ones - that doesn’t do much good, does it?).
I don’t have a laptop yet, so my entries will be hit and miss for awhile. I’ll try to journal our activities as much as possible along the way.
God is so good to allow us to travel across the country, observing all sorts of people, seeing all kinds of great historical and cultural sights, and most of all, spending time with the folks we love.
I recall the lyrics of a great Fernando Ortega song:
“Heavenly Father, remember the traveler -
bring us safely home.”
Lord, you are the maker and sustainer of this family. May we find joy in each other, rest for our spirit, and ministry at every turn along the way.
